What I Do

I design custom trips that feel like you.

From where you stay to how your days unfold, every detail is built around what matters most—whether that’s incredible food, meaningful places, or simply having the space to slow down and enjoy it.

You won’t get a one-size-fits-all itinerary or a packed checklist.
Instead, you’ll have a thoughtfully designed plan, trusted recommendations, and support along the way—so you can travel easily, confidently, and in a way that actually feels personal.

I’ve always believed travel should feel personal—not like you’re following someone else’s itinerary.

I’m Sara, founder of Your Magic Journey, a mom of three, and someone who plans trips the same way I live: centered around connection, good food, and the moments you don’t rush through.

Some of my favorite travel memories aren’t the obvious ones—learning to make pizza and gelato in Florence with my teens, wandering through a neighborhood grocery store in Cologne, long meals at a family-owned taverna on a Greek island, or an unforgettable risotto in the Azores.

When I tell stories about my trips when I return, these are the moments that stick with me. Not the cathedral, not the beach, but these small, unexpected connections and experiences.

I grew up between Montana and Australia and now live in Oregon with my husband, five cats, and one very patient dog. We have two adult children and one still at home-and I love to travel both with and without them. At home, I’m usually cooking, reading, or sharing a meal (and a bottle of wine) with friends. And honestly, that, is exactly how I think about my favorite travel, too.

I believe the best trips are built around connection—wandering a little, lingering a little longer, and taking the most interesting path instead of the most obvious one. Of course there’s room for the must-sees and a little time on the beach, but the magic is often in the unexpected.

That’s what I help my clients create.

When we work together, I’ll design a trip that feels like you—thoughtful, flexible, and filled with the kinds of experiences you’ll still be talking about years later.
